Whether you are opening your door to a service professional or performing work in someone's home, safety is essential. We are committed to doing our part, and technology is at the heart of our approach.

Built-in safety at every step

Background Checks

Every provider undergoes identity verification and criminal background screening through our partner Certn before they can accept a single booking on the platform.

Phone Number Masking

Your phone number is never shared with providers. All calls are routed through Twilio proxy numbers, protecting your personal contact information throughout the service.

Two-Way Ratings

After every service, both customers and providers rate each other. Providers below quality thresholds are reviewed and may be removed. Your feedback shapes the platform.

Cashless Payments

All payments are processed electronically through Stripe. No cash changes hands, eliminating payment disputes and creating a verifiable record of every transaction.

Real-Time Tracking

Track your provider's status from assignment through arrival. Know exactly when they are on the way, when they arrive, and when the service is complete.

In-App Support

Report safety concerns directly through the app at any time. Our support team reviews all safety reports and takes immediate action when necessary.

How we screen every provider

Before a provider can accept their first booking on Swipr, they must pass a multi-step verification process. No exceptions.

1. Identity Verification

Every provider must submit government-issued photo identification. We verify the document is authentic, unaltered, and matches the person applying. This confirms they are who they claim to be.

2. Criminal Background Check

Through our partner Certn, we run a comprehensive Canadian criminal record check and sex offender registry check. Providers with certain types of convictions are not permitted on the platform. This screening is conducted before any bookings can be accepted.

3. Profile Review

Provider profiles, service offerings, and qualifications are reviewed by our team to ensure accuracy and professionalism. Providers must demonstrate relevant expertise for the service categories they apply to.

4. Ongoing Monitoring

Screening does not stop after onboarding. We continuously monitor provider conduct through customer ratings, feedback, and reported incidents. Providers whose performance falls below our standards are reviewed, retrained, or removed from the platform.

Your data, protected

Swipr implements industry-leading security measures to safeguard your personal information and payment data.

Encryption in transit: All data between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS). No data travels unprotected.

Encryption at rest: Data stored in our databases is encrypted using AES-256. Even in the unlikely event of unauthorized access, your data remains unreadable.

PCI DSS Level 1: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, the highest-certified payment processor in the industry. Swipr never stores your full card number.

Canadian data residency: Your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services servers in Montreal, Canada (ca-central-1 region). Your personal information stays in Canada, subject to Canadian privacy law.

Access controls: Strict role-based access controls limit who can view personal data within Swipr. All administrative access requires multi-factor authentication and is logged and audited.

Privacy by design: Providers receive only the minimum information needed: your first name, service address, masked phone number, and service details. They never see your email, last name, or payment information.

If something goes wrong

We take every safety concern seriously. Here is how to report an issue and what happens next.

If you are in immediate danger

Call 911 immediately. Your physical safety always comes first. After contacting emergency services, notify Swipr at support@swiprapp.com so we can take immediate action on the provider's account.

Report through the app

After any service, tap on the booking and select "Report an Issue." Choose the safety category, describe what happened, and include photos if relevant. All reports are reviewed by our dedicated safety team within 24 hours.

What happens after you report

Depending on severity, we may immediately suspend the provider's account, contact you for additional information, escalate to law enforcement if appropriate, and issue a refund. All safety reports are treated confidentially. Your identity is never shared with the reported provider.
