Understanding insurance and liability for services booked through Swipr helps set appropriate expectations.
Provider Responsibility
Service providers on Swipr are independent contractors responsible for the quality and safety of their own work. Many providers carry their own professional liability insurance and trade licences as required by Ontario regulations. Swipr encourages all providers to maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
Swipr’s Role
As a technology platform, Swipr connects customers with service providers but does not directly perform home services. Swipr’s liability is limited as described in our Terms and Conditions. We invest heavily in provider screening, background checks, and quality monitoring to reduce risk, but we are not a guarantor of any provider’s work.
Your Homeowner’s Insurance
We recommend maintaining adequate homeowner’s or renter’s insurance that covers property damage and liability. If an incident occurs during a service, your insurance policy may provide coverage. Check with your insurance provider about coverage for work performed by third-party contractors in your home.
Reporting Issues
If property damage or personal injury occurs during a Swipr service, report it to us immediately at support@swiprapp.com. We will work with you and the provider to investigate the incident and facilitate a resolution, which may include coordination with applicable insurance policies.
